Web Drama Hub · project page

Web Drama Hub is a reading site. You cannot sign up, leave comments or join a mailing list here, which means the site never requests who you are, how to reach you or how you pay, and it keeps no file of personal details on any visitor.

Server records

Each request leaves one line in the server's access log, which is standard practice for websites. A line holds the moment of the request, the page asked for, the status we answered with, the user agent string your browser announces, the referring address when your browser chooses to pass it on, and the IP address of the connection. We read these lines to keep the service running, to catch abusive traffic and to tally visits as plain totals. Old lines roll off on a fixed cycle; none are sold or passed to advertisers.

Once a page has loaded and you first touch, click, scroll with a wheel or press a key, the page sends one tiny note to the server containing the page address, the domain of the referring site and how long the page had been open. That note carries no identifier and is used only to tell human visits apart from automated traffic.

Cloudflare

Requests pass through Cloudflare, which caches pages and filters malicious traffic before it reaches the origin. Cloudflare processes connection data in order to provide that service, under its own published privacy terms.

Cookies and outside scripts

The site sets no advertising or analytics cookies and loads no third-party trackers, web fonts or remote images. A small service worker is installed by your browser so that some sample episodes can be cut out of a larger file; it handles video requests only and stores nothing about you.

Video and partner apps

Sample episodes stream from machines owned by the rights holder or the distributing platform, and those machines see the ordinary request details your browser sends while a video plays. Leaving through a continue button takes you to a partner app governed by its own privacy terms. A share of those exits are affiliate referrals, which can bring this site a small fee.

Your clipboard

The intermediate screen before a partner app puts its pass code on your clipboard at one instant alone: your tap on that screen's continue button. Opening or scrolling the page copies nothing, and no script on Web Drama Hub ever reads clipboard contents back.

Changes to this page

This page is revised whenever the site's handling of data changes. For background on what Web Drama Hub is and how it is funded, see the about page.
