When Love Walked Away

When Love Walked Away — A man leaves his young daughter locked in a car that loses power in the summer heat, then refuses to answer her emergency call.

Adrian parks his vehicle and walks away to join his childhood sweetheart Stacy and her son Lucas, leaving his daughter Esther trapped inside. The engine fails and the air conditioning ceases, causing the interior temperature to soar toward lethal levels. Esther suffers the onset of heatstroke and nearly loses consciousness, yet manages to phone her father. Adrian terminates the call without hearing her voice. She then reaches her mother Claire via tablet, pleading for rescue, but the device powers down before she can disclose where they are. Claire launches a desperate search to find her child before the situation becomes fatal.
